Our history

Founded in 1888 by a group of passionate Maitland locals, The Mutual Bank was established with the mission to ensure that financial investment stayed within the local area.

Visa Secure is a free service that protects you when you use your Mutual Visa Card to purchase online from participating stores. It makes shopping online with your Mutual Visa Card safer and more secure by verifying the identity of the cardholder.

It is a simple but comprehensive way to protect online shoppers against fraud. Visa Secure uses 3-D Secure technology to verify your identity while you shop online, detecting any unusual purchases or patterns. For example, if you are shopping on a new device you may be prompted to contact us to confirm the transaction is genuine.
